Accessibility Statement

Truearo aims to be usable by everyone. This is our accessibility target, what we do today, known gaps and how to reach us.

Last updated

Truearo should be easy to read and use whatever device, input method or assistive technology you rely on. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we do

  • Pages use semantic structure: headings in order, landmarks such as main and navigation, lists and real buttons and links.
  • A skip link lets keyboard users jump past the header to the main content.
  • Interactive elements can be reached and used with a keyboard, and the focus outline is always visible.
  • Text and controls are designed for strong color contrast against the Truearo palette.
  • Layouts reflow on phones, tablets and desktops, and text can be enlarged without losing content.
  • Animation is kept minimal and is switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Form fields have visible labels, and error and success messages are announced to screen readers.

Current status

We test pages ourselves with a keyboard and common browsers, and we fix problems as we find them. Truearo has not yet had an independent accessibility audit, so we describe it as partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA rather than fully conformant.

Known limitations

  • Some older articles may have image descriptions that could be clearer. We are reviewing them.
  • Third-party links lead to sites we do not control, and their accessibility may differ.
  • Some data tables are wide and scroll sideways on small screens. They stay reachable by keyboard.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on Truearo is hard to use, please tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you use. You can use the report form or the contact page. We aim to reply within five business days and will tell you what we can do and when.
